Dash Mashups… Next-Gen’ GPS.

Here is a bit a news I found that may be of interest to all you “Sat Navies”. Those people in the know at Techcrunch are reporting on the development of the next-generation indash GPS:

“Map mashups may be one of the coolest things on the Web, but they would be even cooler in your car. Dash Navigation is announcing today that it will make possible exactly such vehicular mashups (the Web kind, not the actual kind). Dash is developing a GPS navigation system for cars that will go on sale early next year. The device will collects data about traffic conditions from all other Dash drivers, and estimates how long alternative routes will take on any given day. Since they will be connected through a cellular data network to the Internet, all sorts of geo-tagged information can be pushed to the device and combined with the on-board maps. Everything from restaurants and open houses to concerts, gas, and golf courses could be sent to the Dash and appear there on the map.”

Cool Cellphone-Controlled Microcars

Ok! Ok! So it’s not exactly motoring stuff… but who could resist!

Engadget are giving us a cool look at the latest Tomy toys.

“Awwww, Tomy, you’re all tugging at our heartstrings with these wee little cellphone-controlled microcars. Looks like the “Putica” miniature cars have already been out, and they’re adding the whole infrared phone control thing because honestly, it was a glaring omission in the first place. “

“Luv my Sony”?… Maybe Now!

Does anyone remember the phrase “Luv my Sony”?… Well, I pretty much do, but I have always felt that when it came to ICE (In car entertainment) that Sony wasn’t covering all its bases. All that seems to be changing a little with the launch of a new Sony Ericsson HCB-105 hands free solution.

ow you can drive safely when talking on the phone with this new device. The new gadget comes with no installations attached but is a clip-on and gets a control with just two buttons.

The only negative it has is that it needs to be changed from time to time. The claim as per the company suggests is that it will be delivering a talk time of around 25 hrs coupled with a mega stand by time of 700 hours.

Rims… Crossing Bambi & Frankenstein!

Pink car accessories are not for everyone and certainly not for me (not even if I had been born the opposite gender)! That said, if that is the road someone chooses to go, I say: “more power to them”… but the latest offering in car alloys is just too much. Hello Kitty Hell, a website dedicated entirely to the hell known as Hello Kitty, has given us a taste of the latest motoring abomination. Like a cross between Bambi and Frankenstein, there is now the option of Hello Kitty Rims and other such evil accessories… and eternal damnation to anyone who dares to accessorise!
