The entry list for Rally Ireland was published this week, as the countdown to the event reaches its final stages, with less than four weeks to go now until the cars roll down the start ramp in Stormont. All the works teams are present and correct and with Sebastien Loeb’s recent double-header of victories in Spain and Corsica bringing him to within four points of Gronholm, the Irish round could be pivotal to deciding the outcome of the 2007 championship.
A strong home contingent is also on the list, with the likes of Eugene Donnelly, Andrew Nesbitt, Eamonn Boland and Ray Breen all featuring. With their prior experience of the roads, a top ten finish for an Irish Tarmac Championship competitor seems a realistic possibility.
