Seraphim Falls… How the West was won… by the Irish!
Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan have teamed up for this quirky western. In Seraphim Falls, Director David Von Acken has succeeded in creating a truly interesting drama/western, which is rich in subtext and symbolism. As suggested by the poetic and ambiguous title, the film is filled with subtle religious imagery, as the forces of good and evil battle it out, through the very human lead characters of Carver and Gideon .
Set at the end of the Civil War, a colonel hunts down a man with whom he has a grudge, this movie is well worth a look, with a good script from writers David Von Ancken & Abby Everett Jaques and decent performances from both Neeson and Brosnan, with a cameo from Anjelica Huston. It’s a DVD worth a look!
