Trailer… Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

The eagerly awaited new Indiana Jones film is set to be a major box-office hit… and if the trailer (as shown on Yahoo! Movies) is anything to go by, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” looks like another swashbuckling adventure. Directed by Steven Spielberg and featuring a great cast including Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf and Karen Allen (Marion Ravenwood), the story is set in 1957, where Indiana Jones ventures into the jungles of South America in a race against Soviet agents to find the mystical Crystal Skull.

Highlander: The Source

Celebrating 20 years of the Legend, Adrian Paul is back as the immortal Scottish swordsman, Duncan MacLeod in an all new Highlander: The Source. Following on from the success of the first movie, the Highlander sequels produced a number of flops but the TV spin-off series saw the saga getting back on track. The first of a trilogy, this new movie is unlike any Highlander yet produced, with a great cast including many favourites from the TV show and a decent plot. The Source tells the story of Immortals as they quest to locate the Holy Grail of their world. The entire series of films will chronicle the origins of the Immortals. Director Brett Leonard (Lawnmower Man & Virtuosity) commented “This is a tremendous opportunity for a storyteller of this genre to take part in the mythology of 20 years.” He continues that “HIGHLANDER is an amazing ongoing story that I can bring my visual style to… Everything I have done has led me to this kind of mythical fantasy.”

Seraphim Falls… How the West was won… by the Irish!

liamnpierce.jpgLiam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan have teamed up for this quirky western. In Seraphim Falls, Director David Von Acken has succeeded in creating a truly interesting drama/western, which is rich in subtext and symbolism. As suggested by the poetic and ambiguous title, the film is filled with subtle religious imagery, as the forces of good and evil battle it out, through the very human lead characters of Carver and Gideon . Bud Ekins, “Bullitt” Stuntman.

greatescape.jpg

Bud Ekins , the veteran stuntman who doubled for Steve McQueen and who was the man behind the wheel in the iconic film Bullitt, has died. He was 77. Ekins died Saturday of natural causes at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, publicist Paul Bloch said. Over the years, he amassed numerous stunt credits including the TV series “ChiPs” and films such as “Diamonds Are Forever,” “Earthquake,” “The Towering Inferno,” “Animal House” and “The Blues Brothers.”

But Ekins’ most famous stunt work was on his first job: doubling for McQueen in the climactic motorcycle jump over a high, barbed-wire fence in the 1963 World War II prisoner-of-war movie “The Great Escape.”Source: LA Times.
